A trial has begun of Holland & Barrett’s (H&B) new barista service ‘H&Bean’ in its Victoria Street, London, branch.

H&Bean provides a range of barista-made beverages designed around trending health and wellness ingredients and their ‘scientifically-backed benefits’.

The takeaway service offers signature hot and iced coffees and teas from a 17-strong range, each focusing on supporting either women’s health, brain health, skin health or relaxation. H&B’s organic Bespoke House Coffee Blend is used for all coffee options, while customers can choose from steamed plant-based milk alternatives and Manuka honey for added sweetness.

Prices begin at £3, with the menu including: Calm Latte – Relax, a ‘grassy, sweet and nutty drink’ combining matcha, coconut milk, ashwagandha and vitamin B3 to reduce tiredness and fatigue; Beauty Within Latte – Glow, which mixes ‘earthy flavours’ with espresso, coconut milk, blue pea flower, tremella, collagen, selenium, vitamin A and inulin to support hair, skin and the production of collagen; and Digest Tea with ACV, blending aromatics and ginger with sweet apple and H&B Apple Cider Vinegar.

On LinkedIn Rachel Chatterton, head of food and beverages at H&B, shared images from launch day which featured a tuk-tuk parked outside the Victoria Street store, serving free flat whites to passersby to promote H&Bean’s new offer.

“Our team of experts have been hard at work to bring to market a unique range of drinks with benefits that’s backed by science and nutrition,” she comments. “With the healthier coffee market growing, we’re excited to bring this new offering to the market as an on-the-go drinks option for customers. This also offers a great entry point for our customers to trial products and experience their benefits, with all ingredients used in the new range available to be purchased for use at home.”
