Love Your High Street campaign rallies support for indies
Indie retailers across the nation are getting behind Bira’s latest campaign, Love Your High Street Week (18-25 November) which ‘shines a spotlight on the diversity, uniqueness and community-focused offerings’ found on the High Street.
Building on the success of the 2023 campaign, the aim is to encourage more public footfall in independent shops, including health stores.
“This campaign is all about getting people excited to shop local and support the amazing independent retailers that make our high streets special — like you,” says Bira.
Andrew Goodacre, Bira CEO comments: "The response to our first Love Your High Street Week in 2023 was incredibly heartening, with businesses and shoppers alike getting involved to champion the independent spirit of our high streets.
"This year, we're calling on the public to once again show their love and appreciation for the small businesses that make our towns and cities so special. By supporting local independents, we can make a real difference in keeping our high streets vibrant and thriving.
"Our high streets are the heart and soul of communities across the UK, offering a unique shopping experience that you simply can't find online or in larger chains. This week is all about celebrating that independent spirit and encouraging people to explore, support and champion the small businesses that make our local areas so special."
A free instant-access toolkit has been made available for stores, containing digital marketing assets, email templates, printable flyers and window posters, to ‘keep your content fresh throughout the week’.
Suggested social posts include: “We’re proud to be part of the Love Your High Street Week campaign! Supporting local shops isn’t just good for the economy — it’s good for our community. Keep reminding your friends and family to shop local this week and every week! #LoveYourHighStreet #SupportIndieShops #LoveLocal.”
